Why Ukiyo

Not all matcha is the same

RM1.60/g

More matcha, less markup

At RM80 for 50g, Ukiyo delivers ceremonial grade matcha at RM1.60 per gram — 16–35% less than comparable brands.

Direct

Farm to cup, no middlemen

We source directly from family farms in Shimane and Kyoto. Our founders speak Japanese and visit the farms personally — ensuring freshness and quality at every harvest.

100%

Genuine ceremonial grade

Shade-cultivated, stone-ground, from named regions — not vague "Product of Japan" labels. Uji and Izumo terroir you can taste.

10–16

Cups per pack

One 50g pack makes 10–16 cups depending on preparation (3–5g per serve) — from RM5 per cup at home vs RM15–22 at a café.

Traditional Japanese temple gate in Kyoto

Our Story

Why does this feel so rare?

It started with a single cup. Sitting in a quiet matcha shop in Japan, watching the careful, intentional way it was prepared — we felt something shift. A pause. A calmness. And then the question that changed everything: “Why can’t we have this at home?”

Ukiyo (浮世) — the fleeting beauty of life. A reminder to pause, breathe, and stay present. For us, matcha isn’t just a drink. It’s a daily ritual of clarity and calm.

We partner with tea farms in Shimane and Uji, Kyoto — regions known for their ideal growing conditions and centuries of tea cultivation. Every batch is shade-grown, stone-ground, and free from additives. We drink it every day, and we wouldn’t sell anything we wouldn’t drink ourselves.

If you're tired of "matcha" that tastes like bitter grass or contains 90% sugar, STOP SCROLLING. This is the real deal. I've tried so many brands on Shopee, but this one hits the sweet spot between premium quality and wallet-friendly prices.

After taste is good, a bit nutty with not much bitterness and mild natural sweetness. Very nice smell of fresh matcha. Received products in good condition and well packed. Trustable, helpful seller with prompt reply.

Memang another level matcha walaupun local brand. Guna ratio yang dia bagi, nak nangis tengok colour dia. High umami and nuttiness, xde langsung rasa pahit, more to little bit sweet bila padankan dgn oat milk. Jarang saya review but this one worth it so much.

Aroma: Fresh grassiness, light floral, nutty & creamy sweetness. Taste: Cashew nut like umami, buttery, clean aftertaste, no astringency, a hint of bitterness, medium-bodied matcha.
